Že veš, da se je ekipi CZM-ja pridružil prostovoljec Jordi? V okviru programa Evropske solidarnostne enote bo v CZM do sredine septembra. Zbral je nekaj prvih vtisov. Če ga želiš srečati tudi v živo, bo vsak dan v Placu ter na številnih popoldanskih aktivnosti.
1. februarja 2023 sem spakiral kovčke in z veliko entuziazma začel šesturno pot od Valencie do Ljubljane, kamor sem prispel prvič v življenju. Naslednjih osem mesecev bom v CZM Domžale prek programa Evropske solidarnostne enote opravljal prostovoljno delo. Pomagal bom pri izvedbi programa in, upam vsaj tako, pustil svoj pečat pri delu organizacije in v lokalnem okolju.
V prvih 20 dneh sem opazil, da Slovenci uživajo v sproščenem in počasnem življenjskem stilu. Ti dnevi pa so bili zame vse prej kot počasni. Po toplem sprejemu s strani organizacije in predstavitvi njihovih aktivnosti, sem se znašel na šolskih počitnicah, obkrožen s kupom energičnih otrok. Na začetku sem bil nekoliko zgubljen, saj nisem vedel, kako delati z njimi. Prvič sem delal z otroki. Sledil sem zgledu sodelavk in poskušal biti dostopen, kolikor se je dalo. Skušal sem se sporazumevati in igrati z njimi. Na koncu sem zadovoljen, kako je, kljub jezikovnim oviram (ne govorim slovensko), šlo. Upam, da otroci čutijo isto.
Drugi teden v Sloveniji sem preživel na usposabljanju ob prihodu na Debelem rtiču v Ankaranu. Sodeloval sem na neformalnih usposabljanjih in imel priložnost spoznati veliko prostovoljcev iz Evrope in projekte, v katere so vključeni tukaj v Sloveniji. Imel sem tudi priložnost obiskati glavna mesta ob slovenski 46-kilometrov dolgi obali: Ankaran, Koper, Izolo in Piran.
Medtem ko pišem tole, še vedno predeljujem vse, kar se mi je zgodilo v zadnjih 20 dneh, delam načrte za prihodnje tedne in se bolj vključujem v delo organizacije. Vesel sem in hvaležen, da mi je bila dana priložnost, da lahko doživim to. Veselim se naslednjih mesecev.
On the 1st of February 2023, I packed my bags and, with lots of enthusiasm, began a 6-hour journey that would take me from Valencia to Ljubljana, Slovenia, for the first time in my life. For the next eight months, I will be volunteering at CZM Domžale as part of the European Solidarity Corps, assisting with their various programs and hopefully leaving a positive mark on the organization and the community that benefits from it during my time here.
During my first 20 days, I noticed that Slovenians enjoy a relaxed and slow lifestyle. However, these days have been anything but slow for me. After a warm welcome from my organization and an introduction to the center’s activities, I found myself surrounded by lots of energetic children on their school holidays. I was a bit lost as to how to interact with the children as it was my first time working with them, but following the example of my colleagues here at the center, I just tried to be as accessible as possible and tried to interact and play with them as much as I could. In the end, despite the language barrier (I don’t speak Slovenian), I’m happy with how things went, and I hope the children feel the same.
During my second week in Slovenia, I went to my arrival training in Debeli Rtič, Ankaran, where I took part in some non-formal training activities and had the chance to meet many other volunteers from all over Europe and the different projects they are involved in here in Slovenia. During this week, I also had the opportunity to visit the main coastal towns along Slovenia’s 46km coastline: Ankaran, Koper, Izola, and Piran.
As I write this, I’m still trying to process everything that has happened in the last 20 days. As I make plans for the coming weeks and get more involved in my organization, I can’t help but feel very happy and fortunate to have been given the opportunity to experience this, and I look forward to all that is to come in the coming months.
El 1 de Febrero de 2023 hice mis maletas y con muchas ganas e ilusión empecé un viaje que me llevaría desde Valencia a Liubliana, Eslovenia, en poco más de 6 horas. Durante los próximos 8 meses participaré en las diferentes actividades del Centro Juvenil de Domžale (CZM Domžale) como voluntario del Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad, con el deseo de dejar una huella positiva en la organización y toda la comunidad que se beneficia de ella durante mi tiempo aquí.
Durante mis primeros 20 días he percibido que los eslovenos siguen un estilo de vida relajado y sosegado. No obstante, por el momento mi experiencia aquí ha sido cualquier cosa menos tranquila. Después de una cálida acogida por parte de mi organización y una introducción a las actividades habituales del centro, me encontré rodeado de un montón de niños llenos de energía durante sus vacaciones escolares. En un primer momento me sentí bastante perdido porque no sabía cómo interactuar con ellos, pues era mi primera vez trabajando con niños, pero siguiendo el ejemplo del resto del equipo del centro intenté ser lo más accesible posible y participar de sus juegos y actividades. En general, a pesar de la barrera lingüística (no hablo esloveno), me siento bastante satisfecho con la experiencia y espero que para ellos también haya sido positivo.
Durante mi segunda semana en Eslovenia, participé en mi formación a la llegada en Debeli Rtič, Ankaran, donde participé en actividades de formación no convencional para conocer más nuestro papel como voluntarios del cuerpo europeo de solidaridad y el país de acogida. También tuve la oportunidad de conocer a los otros 15 voluntarios que habían llegado durante los últimos meses a Eslovenia, así como conocer las principales localidades de los 45 km. de costa eslovena: Ankaran, Koper, Izola y Pirán.
Aún me encuentro en proceso de asimilar todo lo que ha ido ocurriendo a lo largo de estos 20 días. Al mismo tiempo que sigo planificando cosas para las próximas semanas y voy me involucrando mas y mas en mi organización, no puedo evitar sentirme muy contento y afortunado de haber tenido la oportunidad de vivir esta experiencia – y espero con impaciencia e ilusión todo lo que está por venir.
